The French Alps Yoga Retreat
A yoga holiday that combined inner peace with exhilarating adventure
In 2016, the Lotus Room went on an exciting adventure yoga holiday in the French Alps. Here you could find your connection in the peace and tranquility offered by yoga and a unique environment; and feel alive with exhilarating sport such as downhill mountain biking, white water rafting, hiking over mountain passes, and more.
“An experience of a lifetime!”
“It was great! A lot of positive energy, love and sharing. The bond reated during such a short duration was impressive.”
“Wonderful! Just perfect.”
“Unforgettable, fulfilling, amazing! Unique, deep, powerful!
“Everything was just perfect – feel deeply connected with myself, others, nature and the Source.”
“I learned a lot – this experience taught me more than I expected. I feel stronger to face the challenges back home.”
“Excellent, beautiful, never will be forgotten, beyond words and description.”
The sankalpa, highest intention, of this trip was to restore your body and mind to balance so that you may come into harmony and sync with the rhythm of your own soul voice and live in an authentic state of peace, wholeness and integration.
The Lotus Room French Alps Yoga Retreat 2016 experience
We arrived in the French Alps as strangers but, very quickly, through our common intention of self-care and self-love, we found a feeling of connection and sharing and began shedding the layers of conditioning and suppressed pain, letting go of mind and ego to return to the heart.
We practiced yoga and meditation daily, which is transformative in itself, and also set time for reflection and guided introspection.
There was shedding of tears, but not tears of sadness; they were tears of release, tears of joy. We created a safe space to allow such bottled emotions to surface, and to express our inner heart. The group built a bond that was very strong, because living in community naturally creates intimacy and we share a common goal of self development.
We also took the time to have a holiday, see the place and enjoy it. The holiday feeling is an experience of freedom and serves the intention to let go and restart.
“The focus of the yoga retreat was on the elements – air, fire, water and earth – practiced in a beautiful natural environment. In the process, we experience that we are part of nature, and the elements form part of who we are. During Lotus Room yoga holidays we learn how to restore inner balance through connection with the elements.” ~ Jenny
